Bespoke Furniture

For The Sort Of Thing You Can't Buy

Every project begins with a conversation about how you live, what you love, and the beauty you'd love to see around you.

From that, something extraordinary takes shape.

As a cabinet maker, I design and make interiors and bespoke pieces that are both stunning and practical: dressing rooms crafted to bring order and elegance to everyday life, home offices shaped around how you think and work, and home libraries where finish and proportion matter as much as the books themselves.

Each room or piece of furniture is built from the finest materials, designed to endure and blend naturally within your home.

There's a quiet satisfaction in seeing something made just for you, something that feels right, fits perfectly, and will be part of your home for years to come.

Craftsmanship Meets Contemporary Life

I've always worked with wood, right from a boy. My work draws on years spent studying design, history and traditional methods, learning how things were made and why they've lasted.

I started out building houses with my dad, then joined an antique restorer in Scotland before moving to Glasgow to study furniture design.

I realised I kept looking back to the golden ages of furniture design, so I moved south, first to London, then to West Sussex, where I worked in a small team of cabinet makers, some of the best restorers in the country. I completed restoration projects for stately homes, the leading art and antiques fairs in London, as well as for the Victoria & Albert Museum and Lord Nelson's ship, HMS Victory.

Because of these experiences, I design and make bespoke furniture and interiors that feel right from the moment they're in your home, change naturally over time, and if cared for, will last for generations.

The Challenges Of Getting It Right

A room or piece that brings pleasure every time you walk in – that's what well-designed and crafted joinery brings.

Behind every commission there's a reason: a frustration, a desire, or a hope for something better made.

Many have had wardrobes or fitted furniture that looked good at first but, within a few years, started to fall apart.

For some, it's about spaces that don't quite work, things that don't fit properly, areas that feel wasted.

Others have had people in before. Joiners or carpenters who've had a go. They just want someone who'll do a really good job.

And for others, it's about meaning and sentimental value: a writing desk, a small cabinet, or a keepsake box, made as a gift from loved ones, to be treasured for a lifetime.

Whether it's a boot room, a kitchen, or a specially commissioned piece of furniture, a well-designed piece changes how a room feels, drawing the eye, becoming the thing people notice first.

When something is built for you, or around you, everything changes.

Life flows.

The space simply works.

Gifts become beloved treasures.

The pieces that leave my workshop are unique, made to bring joy, quality and comfort for years to come.

Inside The Workshop

Every commission starts long before the tools come out.

I produce one or two design boards to give clients different ideas so they can really see what they want – different colours, types of timber, styles and finishes that would work in their home.

We talk about what you like, what you don't, and why. It's about discovering it together.

From the first sketches, each stage is about balance: design, proportion and how it feels in the room. The details matter. Joints that fit cleanly, surfaces that are smooth to the touch and wear beautifully with time.

Some clients love the character of aged oak or walnut; others prefer a clean, contemporary look. Whether it's an interior, a kitchen, or a new piece of furniture, each one is handmade and finished in a blend of oil and wax, giving depth and durability that only improves with use.

As the piece takes shape, I offer clients the option of photo or short video updates – capturing the intricate steps and moments along the way.

It builds anticipation and a sense of connection, knowing that what's being made is especially for them.

When it's complete, you can see and feel the difference – a piece that elevates the room, reveals new details every time the light changes, and quickly becomes your favourite place or object in the home.

"Owen’s craftsmanship is evident right from the planning stage of his work. He designed our bookcases, providing expert advice from the start. Owen ensured that the bookcase he built made the most of the space available and matched our tastes and the style of the room – but most importantly to him, that he created a piece that will bring us pleasure.

The finish is beautiful and reflects both his attention to detail and enthusiasm for creating exceptional furniture that will last forever."
