About Us
I've spent a lifetime surrounded by craft and by creative, talented people.
From building houses alongside my dad to restoring museum pieces, designing furniture, and later retraining as a pastor, one truth remained constant: the work only matters if the people do.
The True Meaning Of Service
As a minister of the gospel, I cared for two churches for over eleven years. There, I came to see a different kind of beauty. I learned the importance of honesty, happiness, care, kindness, and hard work, and I realised that people matter an awful lot to me.

So, when life eventually brought me back to the craft I had loved since childhood, I returned with a renewed appreciation for it and for the difference that thoughtful, lasting work can make in people's lives.

Our Values
What began as a small job for a friend five years ago became much more: a family business built on care, patience, and trust. Today, we value work that is as personal as it is precise, creating and restoring pieces made to last – and relationships that do too.

We specialise in antique restoration, historic joinery, and bespoke furniture, all crafted with the same respect for materials, design, and detail that runs through everything we do.

You will find me in the workshop with dust in my hair, an apron on, a mug of tea nearby, and Classic FM playing quietly on the radio. My sketchbook is open, filled with mouldings and details I have seen in people's homes, ready to be echoed in the next piece.

We design, make, and restore. Every project begins with your ideas: the space you live in, the piece you have imagined, the story you want to tell or preserve.

We offer a blend of modern design and traditional skills, but it is the conversations, the listening, and the thoughtful planning that ultimately shape the result. That is why many clients come back to us.
The People Behind The Name
I have been around wood all my life and, by happy coincidence, it is written into my name. However, Owen Blackwood Craftsmanship is very much a family story, one that is shared with my wife, Eleanor, and our three daughters. Eleanor shines with her friendliness and artistic flair, Molly her creative spark, Jemima her cards and sketches, and Rosie her endless positivity. They each bring something to the bench, whether it is ideas, skills, enthusiasm, or simply their care.

We are a close-knit team, but mighty in the attention we give and what we can accomplish. There is nothing we have been asked that we have not been able to do.

"Owen came highly recommended by a neighbour and I’m glad I listened.
Not only is his craftsmanship second to none, but he always has a positive attitude and is happy to offer his opinion and advice when requested.
The phrase is overused but Owen really does have a passion for what he does.
He is a joy to have around and in return only requires cups of tea and the odd Twix."
